Strict directives issued by Municipal Commissioner in Property Department review meeting; orders action against illegal encroachments and land mafia

Lucknow: A crucial review meeting of the Property Department was held on Saturday at the Municipal Corporation Headquarters under the chairmanship of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gaurav Kumar. The meeting was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Property In-charge Officer Mr. Sanjay Yadav, and other officials of the Property Department.

*Instructions to maintain property registers and conduct surveys*
Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gaurav Kumar directed the officials to properly maintain and regularly update the property registers of all municipal assets. He also instructed that extended municipal areas be surveyed to identify illegal occupations.

*Strict action against illegal encroachments*
During the meeting, the Commissioner emphasized that all illegal encroachments on government land should be removed immediately. He directed that any illegal construction activities must be identified in their early stages and stopped promptly to ensure the protection of municipal property.

*Orders to crack down on land mafia*
The Municipal Commissioner instructed strict legal action against land mafias involved in illegal plotting. He stressed that such unlawful activities must be curbed at the initial level and perpetrators brought under legal scrutiny without delay.

*Additional Commissioner shares departmental achievements*
During the meeting, Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Pankaj Kumar reported that, so far this year, the Property Department has conducted 188 anti-encroachment drives, through which 121.306 hectares of land have been reclaimed. Additionally, 27 FIRs have been filed against those involved in illegal encroachments.

Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gaurav Kumar appreciated the efforts of the Property Department and acknowledged their role in improving urban management and protecting municipal assets. He instructed that these initiatives must continue proactively.

Concluding the meeting, the Commissioner emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in all property-related tasks. He stated that such measures would benefit the general public and enhance the reputation and effectiveness of the Municipal Corporation.
