Municipal Commissioner Inspects Drain Cleaning Work in Various Areas, Issues Strict Directives to Officials

Lucknow: With monsoon preparations gaining momentum, the Municipal Corporation has ramped up its activities across the city. Continuing this effort, Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gaurav Kumar conducted a detailed inspection across various areas on Friday to review the drainage, sewer cleaning, and waste collection systems. During the inspections, he issued strict warnings to officials found negligent and emphasized the need for time-bound completion of cleanliness works. He also interacted with local residents to gather feedback and highlighted the importance of public participation.

*Strict Instructions During Inspection in Indira Nagar*

On Friday morning, Mr. Gaurav Kumar visited Sector-C of Indira Nagar (Zone 7) to inspect the drainage cleaning system. He reviewed the status of the work and issued strong warnings to sanitation staff. Interacting with local residents, he collected feedback on garbage collection. Residents informed him that a private individual charges ₹150 per month for waste collection. In response, the Commissioner ordered an immediate investigation and instructed officials to ensure that the municipal waste collection vehicle reaches every household.

*Inspection of Drains Along Munshi Pulia Road*

The Commissioner inspected the roadside drains between Sector-D and Munshi Pulia. Expressing dissatisfaction over the cleanliness, he instructed the officials to complete the work promptly.

*Review of Cleaning Work at Aurobindo Chauraha*

Mr. Kumar then moved to Aurobindo Chauraha, where he examined nearby drainage systems. He directed the Zonal Sanitary Officer (ZSO) to ensure thorough cleaning of all park-area drains.

*Speed Up Work in Sector 14*

While inspecting the drains in Sector 14, the Commissioner directed the SFI to remove the silt from the site without delay. He also took feedback from locals regarding door-to-door waste collection, to which residents responded positively.

*Encroachment Hindering Drain Cleaning at Khurram Nagar*

At Khurram Nagar Chauraha, the Commissioner expressed displeasure over encroachments obstructing drain cleaning. Upon receiving complaints from the local councillor, he instructed officials to remove all encroachments and ensure complete cleaning before the monsoon.

*Review of Cleaning Progress on Ring Road, Zone 3*

As part of the inspection, Mr. Kumar visited Ring Road in Zone 3 and directed the Chief Engineer (RR) to complete the drain cleaning and ensure immediate silt removal from the site.

*Action Ordered for Negligence in Jankipuram Sector C*

During his visit to Sector C, Jankipuram (Zone 3), the Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over the sanitation condition. Upon finding negligence, he ordered withholding of the SFI’s salary and instructed the ZSO to ensure better cleaning of back lanes and drains in the sector.

*Inspection at Aliganj Sector-O*

Later, the Commissioner visited Sector-O in Aliganj to inspect drain cleaning work. He directed the Chief Civil Engineer to ensure timely completion of the task.

*Order to Remove Encroachments Near Mahanagar Metro Station*

Inspecting the drain near Mahanagar Metro Station, the Commissioner instructed the Civil Engineer to immediately remove any encroachments and ensure complete cleaning of the drain.

The inspection was attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Lalit Kumar, Ms. Namrata Singh, Chief Civil Engineer Mr. Mahesh Verma, Chief Engineer (RR) Mr. Manoj Kumar Prabhat, and other officials from the engineering and zonal departments of the Municipal Corporation.
