Lucknow: Under the ongoing anti-encroachment drive by the Lucknow Municipal Corporation, illegal encroachments on government land were removed on Tuesday in Gauri Village, Sarojini Nagar Tehsil. The action was carried out under the directives of Municipal Commissioner Mr. Gaurav Kumar and by the team constituted by Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Pankaj Srivastava.
Government lands in Gauri Village, identified as Gata numbers 1003/0.347 hectares and 1004/0.026 hectares, had been illegally occupied by some property dealers who had started unauthorized plotting. The encroachment was removed using JCB machines, and the land was freed. This operation was led by Property Incharge Mr. Sanjay Yadav and Tehsildar Mr. Arvind Pandey.
The drive also included participation from Nayaab Tehsildar Mr. Ratnesh Kumar, Revenue Inspector Mr. Avinash Chandra Tiwari, Lekhpal Mr. Sandeep Yadav, Mr. Anupam Mishra, Mr. Ajit Tiwari, and Area Lekhpal Mr. O.P. Rajput. Additionally, police personnel from Sarojini Nagar police station and the Municipal Corporation’s ETF team were present on-site to support the operation.
During the action, a few local individuals protested, but the administration handled the situation calmly and peacefully. Officials explained the necessity of the operation to those present and ensured the action was completed lawfully and effectively.
A total of 0.373 hectares of prime land was cleared of encroachments. According to current market rates, the recovered land is estimated to be worth approximately Rs. 6.03 crore. The land was being prepared for illegal plotting and sale, which not only posed a loss to government property but also obstructed city development plans.
The Lucknow Municipal Corporation has made it clear that such anti-encroachment drives will continue in the future. Citizens are urged not to engage in illegal activities and to cooperate with the Municipal Corporation in maintaining order and development.
