– Hon’ble Mayor Inspects Cleanliness in All Eight Zones

On the occasion of the birthday of Operation Sindoor’s hero, India’s esteemed Defence Minister and popular MP of Lucknow, Hon’ble Shri Rajnath Singh Ji, Lucknow Municipal Corporation organized a Maha Swachhta Abhiyan across the city. As part of this special campaign, Hon’ble Mayor Smt. Sushma Kharkwal Ji personally inspected various areas across all eight zones and reviewed the cleanliness arrangements.

Zone 1: The campaign was inaugurated with the cleaning of Mahatma Gandhi Ji’s statue at Hazratganj Chauraha. On this occasion, Municipal Commissioner Shri Gaurav Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Shri Lalit Kumar, Zonal Officer Shri O.P. Singh, representatives of business organizations, and other officers and employees were present. The campaign began at 6:00 AM, led by the Mayor.

Zone 4: Inspections were conducted in areas like Viram Khand and Vineet Khand, among others. During this inspection, Additional Municipal Commissioner Smt. Namrata Singh, Zonal Officer Shri Sanjay Yadav, along with councilors, officers, and sanitation staff were present.

Zone 7: An inspection was carried out at Bhootnath Market, where local traders also contributed by participating in the cleanup. Municipal Commissioner Shri Gaurav Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Shri Lalit Kumar, GM Water Works Shri Kuldeep Singh, Chief Engineer Shri Mahesh Verma, Zonal Officer Shri Akash Kumar, and other officers and employees were present.

Zone 3: At Gol Market Chauraha and Nishatganj Pul under the Karamat Market, cleanliness issues were found, following which the Mayor reprimanded the officers and instructed immediate cleaning. Zonal Officer Shri Amarjeet Singh, Zonal Sanitary Officer, and other employees were present. In Mankameshwar Ward, the park was cleaned with the participation of local councilors and citizens.

Zone 6: The Mayor inspected the cleanliness campaign in the Thakurganj area. The inspection was attended by Nodal Officer Chief Tax Assessment Officer Shri Ashok Singh, Zonal Officer Shri Manoj Yadav, and other Municipal Corporation officers and employees. The Mayor instructed that large dustbins be placed in front of all commercial buildings to prevent people from throwing garbage on the streets.

Zone 2: An inspection was conducted near the Ashbagh Peeli Colony Park. During this inspection, Municipal Commissioner Shri Gaurav Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, Zonal Officer Sushri Shilpa Kumari, and local citizens were present.

Zone 5: The cleanliness system in the Krishna Nagar area was reviewed. Zonal Officer Shri Nandkishore and local citizens participated in the campaign. The Mayor issued strict directives for improving cleanliness in the area.

Zone 8: An inspection was conducted in Hind Nagar Ward, Rickshaw Colony, where cleanliness work, including drain cleaning, was reviewed. Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr. Arvind Kumar Rao, Zonal Officer Shri Ajit Rai, along with other officers and employees, were present during this inspection.

Hon’ble Mayor Smt. Sushma Kharkwal Ji remarked that the dream of a clean Lucknow will only be realized when officers and employees work with accountability and when the public actively participates. The objective of this campaign is not just a one-day cleanup, but to make cleanliness a part of everyday life for citizens.
