At Ekana Media T-20, Dr. Rajeshwar Singh announces ₹5 lakh assistance and a Welfare Fund initiative for journalists

Lucknow. Sarojininagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh attended the final match of the ‘Ekana Media T-20 Cricket Tournament’ held at KD Singh Babu Stadium on Wednesday as the chief guest. On this occasion, he felicitated the winning team – Times of India and the runner-up team – Doordarshan–AIR for their outstanding performance.

Dr. Singh said, “Journalists are the true custodians of democracy. Especially, sports journalists inspire and guide thousands of young people through their writings. When journalists are physically fit and mentally alert, only then can the nation and its democracy truly remain protected.”
He appreciated the dedication, devotion, and decisiveness of the players and said, “Players are not just heroes of the game but also among the finest citizens contributing to nation-building. In the same spirit, the Sarojininagar Sports League has been continuously organized in the constituency for the last three years.”

Dr. Singh announced that a grant of ₹5 lakh from the CSR Fund will be provided for the national-level Media Cricket Tournament to promote sports among journalists. He also assured that a proposal would be placed before Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Ji for the establishment of a Journalist Welfare Fund and a Skill Development Centre to train journalists in tackling the rising challenges of Fake and Deep Fake content in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) era.
