Lucknow Taking a strict stance on sanitation standards, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation conducted a surprise inspection in the Alamnagar Ward on May 1, 2025. The inspection took place at 8:30 AM under the supervision of Zonal Officer Mr. Manoj Yadav (Zone-6), along with SFI and other responsible officials.
During the inspection, it was observed that sanitation workers employed by the contracted agency “Lion Security Guard Services” were working without any mandatory safety gear. The workers were not wearing gloves, masks, or other essential protective equipment, despite prior instructions from the corporation mandating these measures.
Officials found that the agency had clearly ignored the guidelines, posing risks to worker safety and compromising the quality of cleanliness. Moreover, no supervisor or responsible representative from the agency was present at the site to oversee the work.
Taking serious note of this negligence, the Municipal Corporation has imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on Lion Security Guard Services. The corporation has clearly stated that any form of carelessness in sanitation work will not be tolerated. If such violations are repeated in the future, stricter action will be taken.
The corporation emphasized that the safety of sanitation workers is a top priority, and no agency will be allowed to compromise on this aspect. Failing to provide protective gear is not only a violation of rules but also a disregard for basic human dignity.
All sanitation agencies have been sternly warned to follow guidelines and ensure that all workers are equipped with proper safety equipment. Failure to comply may result in harsher penalties in the future.
This action reflects the commitment of Lucknow Municipal Corporation to maintain hygiene standards and protect its frontline sanitation workforce.
