– Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Hon’ble Mayor Perform Bhoomi Pujan
Lucknow: A significant step toward strengthening educational infrastructure was taken on Tuesday at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Municipal Degree College, located in Ismailganj, Chinhat. The foundation stone and Bhoomi Pujan for the construction of two new academic classrooms and a modern auditorium were formally conducted by former Chief Minister and Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma. The ceremony was presided over by Hon’ble Mayor Mrs. Sushma Kharakwal.
A large number of students, faculty members, and local residents participated in the event. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Dinesh Sharma emphasised that quality education forms the foundation of any progressive society, and the development of new facilities in the Municipal Degree College will provide an improved learning environment for the youth. He further added that the government remains committed to promoting education and developing high-standard academic resources.
Among those present at the occasion were Municipal Commissioner Shri Gaurav Kumar, Hon’ble Councillor Shri Anurag Mishra ‘Annu’, Additional Municipal Commissioner Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, and Environmental Engineer Shri Sanjeev Pradhan. All officials praised the ongoing development works, stating that the new classrooms and auditorium will not only facilitate academic activities but also serve as an important venue for educational programmes, cultural events and seminars.
In her address, Mayor Mrs. Sushma Kharakwal highlighted the efforts being made by the Municipal Corporation in the field of education. She said that equipping the Municipal Degree College with modern facilities is a crucial first step, and several more projects will be undertaken for the expansion and upgradation of the institution in the coming days.
Municipal Commissioner Shri Gaurav Kumar expressed gratitude to Hon’ble Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma and all dignitaries present. He said that the addition of new classrooms and the auditorium will provide students with enhanced opportunities not only for academics but also for various educational and cultural activities. With the foundation stone laid, a new chapter of development has begun for the college—one that will significantly benefit the students of the region and further enhance the quality of higher education.
