Proposal for Assembly-level review meetings of Central and State Government schemes
Lucknow Sarojininagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, giving an important proposal to organize Assembly-wise progress review meetings of Central and State Government schemes, coupled with direct beneficiary interactions.
In his letter, Dr. Singh highlighted that welfare schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, Kanya Sumangala Yojana, various scholarships, and pension schemes are directly benefiting the poor, farmers, women, students, and marginalized groups. He emphasized that to further strengthen the effectiveness of these schemes, direct dialogue and review with the beneficiaries are essential.
*The key suggestions mentioned in the letter are as follows:*
1. Beneficiary meetings should be organized in every Assembly constituency, with the participation of district and block-level officials.
2. These meetings should be presided over by the Minister in-charge, while the Chief Minister’s address should be shared through video conferencing or a pre-recorded message.
3. Beneficiaries’ concerns and difficulties should be heard directly, and immediate solutions should be ensured on the spot.
Dr. Singh stated that this initiative would not only strengthen the transparency and accountability of government schemes but also deepen trust between the public and administration. It would establish a direct connection between elected representatives and beneficiaries while reflecting the sensitivity of governance.
According to the Sarojininagar MLA, if such a system is implemented, beneficiaries across Uttar Pradesh will be further empowered, and the state will emerge as a model of people’s participation and good governance.
