PGTI NextGen Golf Tournament 2025 concludes successfully at Lucknow Golf Club

Lucknow The spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie filled the greens of Lucknow Golf Club as the PGTI NextGen Golf Tournament 2025 concluded successfully. Sarojini Nagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, a proud member of the club since 2007, attended the prize distribution ceremony along with his elder brother Shri Rameshwar Singh, and extended heartfelt congratulations to all the winners of this prestigious tournament.

Dr. Singh also congratulated the organisers for their tireless efforts, with special mention of Shri Subhash Chandra (IPS, Retd.), recalling the days when both served together in Uttar Pradesh Police. He further applauded Captain R.S. Nanda, Secretary Rajneesh Sethi, Joint Secretary cum Treasurer Sanjeev Agarwal and PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl for their vision and commitment in organising such a memorable event. He remarked that such tournaments not only enrich socio-cultural exchanges but also contribute to the rapidly expanding sports economy of India, which is projected to grow from $52 billion to $130 billion by 2030, creating significant jobs and business opportunities.

*Heritage Meets the Future:* Sharing his roadmap for the future of Lucknow Golf Club, Dr. Singh called for the creation of a ₹100 crore Sports Promotion Corpus to elevate the club to the next level and ensure it stands among the finest golf clubs in India. He highlighted the importance of attracting more sponsorships, expanding membership, and investing in the youth through structured coaching and training so that future champions can emerge from Lucknow.

Speaking about golf, Dr. Singh described it as a “game of hope” – where each swing is a new beginning, every walk on the greens brings lessons, laughter, and stronger bonds, and every round teaches that patience, calmness and precision can overcome brute force. He added, “In golf, you cannot change the last swing or predict the next one, you can only focus on the shot in front of you. This is the true lesson of mindfulness and staying in the present, something deeply relevant to succeed in today’s life.”

Reflecting on the glorious tradition of Lucknow Golf Club, Dr. Singh noted, “This club carries a wonderful legacy with eminent players and members who have always inspired the sporting spirit of our state capital. Since becoming a member in 2007, I have always wished the best for this prestigious institution. I hope it continues to scale greater heights and organise such remarkable events in the future.”

Dr. Singh concluded his address by extending gratitude to the organisers for their vision, sponsors for their support, and players for their enthusiasm, while expressing confidence that Lucknow will continue to host events that inspire the youth and strengthen India’s sporting legacy.
