Lucknow: Sarojininagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh on Tuesday shared a deeply reflective and thought-provoking message on social media platform X, urging Indians to awaken to the need for protecting the nation’s soul – its culture and civilizational heritage. He clarified that his call was not against any community, but a civilizational appeal for revival of awareness, emphasizing equality, coexistence, and security as the pillars of national stability.

*In his post, Dr. Singh wrote:*
“The new war is not fought at borders, but within minds. When a civilization stops protecting its values, others begin to write its story.
Protecting Dharma is not about religion, but about safeguarding truth, justice, and the nation itself.”

*Facts That Demand Reflection:*
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, citing data from Census 2011, NFHS-5 (2019–21), Pew Research (2021), and CPS India (2025), referred to the changing religious-demographic balance across several Indian states: Kerala: Hindus 54.73%, Muslims 26.56%, Christians 18.38% (in 1961, Hindus ~61%), West Bengal: Hindus 70.54%, Muslims 27.01% (Murshidabad 66%, Malda 51%, North Dinajpur ~50%), Jammu & Kashmir: Muslims 68.31%, Hindus ~28.4% (Kashmir Valley ~97% Muslim), Nagaland: 87.9% Christian, Meghalaya: 74.6% Christian, Manipur: Hindus 41.4%, Christians 41.3%, Muslims 8.4%

Quoting Pew Research (2021), Dr. Singh pointed out that between 1951 and 2011, the share of Hindus declined steadily in states like Kerala and West Bengal. He also noted that, as per NFHS-5 (2019–21), the Hindu–Muslim fertility gap has narrowed to less than 0.4 children per woman, reflecting demographic convergence but also the need for policy vigilance and cultural awareness.

*“Facts Matter – But Awareness and Unity Matter Even More”*
Dr. Rajeshwar Singh stated that India’s demographic equilibrium is gradually shifting — a change that requires both policy-level attention and societal awareness.

He remarked: “Issues like illegal migration, targeted conversion, and uneven population growth are not just statistical.
They are deeply linked with India’s policy, society, and cultural direction. Sanatan Dharma symbolizes balance and coexistence – but blind indifference weakens both society and security.”

*Core Message:*
India’s greatest battle today is not on borders, but within minds and narratives.
External assaults now arrive through ideas and misinformation, not weapons.
Truth, education, and awareness are the strongest defenses of a civilization.
Silent tolerance is not strength; awareness is true protection.
“When Sanatan awakens, Bharat rises again.”
