42 RWAs in Sarojini Nagar now equipped with Community Libraries: Dr. Rajeshwar Singh

Lucknow. A book can change the world, a book can change the mind, and a book can change the society. A library is not merely a place to read -it is the beating heart of a community that connects people, ideas, and generations. With this spirit, continuing the mission to establish Community Libraries in all 104 RWAs of the Sarojini Nagar Assembly Constituency, MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh on Sunday inaugurated new Community Libraries in five RWAs – Govardhan Enclave, Casa Green, Lakshya Heights, The Grace, and Rohtas Icon.

With this addition, a total of 42 RWAs in Sarojini Nagar now have their own community libraries – vibrant spaces that promote reading, dialogue, and social participation, creating a new culture of collective learning in urban communities.

He appreciated how RWA members are collecting plastic, paper, and other recyclable materials with sincerity and discipline, and expressed happiness to see children becoming increasingly environmentally conscious and responsible. “Such initiatives not only protect nature but also inspire our younger generation to adopt sustainable lifestyles,” he remarked.

*A Call for Sustainable Living :*

Today, that date has shifted to 1st August – meaning we consume in just seven months what nature regenerates in a year.”

He urged citizens to adopt sustainable habits, adding, “A sustainable way of life is the greatest healing path a society can adopt, and this is the truest form of service we can offer to our children and their future.”

*Sarojini Nagar on the Path to Net Zero:*
Dr. Singh also shared his vision to make Sarojini Nagar the first Net Zero Constituency in the country, with a strong focus on solar energy, waste management, and community awareness. “Our vision is to ensure zero carbon emissions and align every aspect of development with environmental balance. This mission will succeed only when every citizen actively participates in it,” he stated.
