Lucknow: Holi, the festival of colors and happiness, brings people of all ages together. Embracing this spirit, Mayor of Lucknow, Mrs. Sushma Kharkwal, celebrated Holi with the elderly at the old age home in Zone-7, Adil Nagar. On this occasion, she applied gulal to the elderly and played Holi with them in a traditional manner.

The Mayor emphasized that the elderly are the pillars of our society and should never feel lonely. She interacted with them, listened to their concerns, and assured them that the Municipal Corporation is always ready to assist them. The residents of the old age home were overjoyed by this gesture. They expressed that celebrating Holi with loved ones is no less than a priceless gift.

The event was also attended by Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Lalit Kumar, Zonal Officer of Zone-7 Mr. Akash Kumar, EXEN Mr. Ashok Yadav, ZSO Mr. Kuldeep Singh, and other senior officials of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. They stated that the corporation will continue to participate actively in such social initiatives.

Through this event, Mayor Kharkwal conveyed the message that caring for the elderly is our moral responsibility. She urged people to spend time with senior citizens in their families and communities and celebrate festivals with love and enthusiasm.

The Mayor and other officials sang Holi songs with the elderly and spent quality time with them. Several elderly residents of the home shared that this was the first time a government official had come to celebrate the festival with them, making them extremely happy.
