The UP–Japan Investment Meet 2026 was held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow, in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture Shri Kotaro Nagasaki, Vice Governor Shri Junichi Ishidera, Shri Jaiveer Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism & Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, members of the Japanese delegation and other dignitaries.
The engagement focused on strengthening economic cooperation between Uttar Pradesh and Japan, promoting investment opportunities and exploring new avenues of collaboration across key sectors.
MoU between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Prefecture was signed in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Shri Jaiveer Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism & Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Japanese delegates. The agreement creates a framework for sharing tourism knowledge, joint promotion, engagement between tourism operators, religious and cultural routes, and mutual visitor exchange. The agreement also provides for greater awareness of the UNESCO World Heritage values of Sarnath in Uttar Pradesh and Fujisan in Japan.
Shri Amrit Abhijat, Additional Chief Secretary, Tourism, Culture & Religious Affairs; Dr. Ved Pati Misra, Director General, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, and other senior officials were also present.
The meet marked another step towards building stronger economic, investment and cultural ties between Uttar Pradesh and Japan.
